Crochet Star Top Pattern

The video is about creating a star-patterned crochet top. To make this, you’ll need two colors of yarn, a crochet hook, a darning needle, and optionally, pins and scissors.

Here are the main steps:

  1. Front Panel: Begin by chaining a length that’s half your waist, using an odd number of chains. Then, double crochet in the fifth chain from the hook, chaining one and skipping a stitch. Continue this pattern for 13 rows.

  2. Star Graph: To create the star pattern, mark the center and spaces on each side. Crochet as usual until you reach the first marked space, then switch colors. Crochet according to the star graph provided, crocheting on top of the stitches instead of in the spaces for a neater look.

  3. Adjustments: Increase the width of the top by adding extra double crochets in rows five, six, and ten if needed.

  4. Straps: Make straps by crocheting rows of double crochets in varying lengths to fit over your shoulders.

  5. Back Panel and Assembly: Create a back panel similar to the front panel, excluding the star pattern. Sew the front and back panels together, leaving spaces for side straps.

  6. Side Straps: Crochet side straps and attach them to the marked spaces on each side.

  7. Finishing: Finally, weave in any loose ends to complete the top.

The creator suggests trying the pattern and welcomes feedback for improvements.
