Lovely Crochet Lace Mason Jar Cover Pattern
Are you someone who loves making special crafts? Well, I found something really neat to create: lace covers for mason jars! These covers can be made using crochet, and they’re perfect for decorating jars. I even made some as gifts for my new cousins joining our family this year.
Materials you’ll need:
- Crochet hook (size 4 mm)
- Light yarn (I used Mary Maxim Fresh)
- 1 quart jar and/or 1 pint jar (wide mouth jars work too)
- Yarn needle
- Ribbon (if you want to add a bow)
Here’s how to make them:
For a Quart Size Jar:
- Start by making a circle with 8 half double crochets.
- Then, in each round, add more stitches until you have a total of 20 rounds. You’ll switch between single crochet, double crochet, and V-stitch patterns to create the lacey look.
- Once you reach your desired height, you can add a ribbon as a pretty finishing touch.
For a Pint Size Jar:
- Begin with 6 half double crochets in a circle.
- Similar to the quart size, add more stitches in each round until you reach 18 rounds, alternating between single crochet, double crochet, and V-stitch patterns.
- Finish it off by threading a ribbon through the stitches at the top if you’d like.
Some helpful tips:
- Make sure your stitches aren’t too tight so the cover fits just right on the jar.
- If it’s a bit loose, the ribbon can help keep it in place.
These covers are great for holding candles or even displaying pretty flowers. You can make them in different colors to match special occasions, like weddings!
Happy crafting!
